It’s time for the most delicious night of the month—charity pie night! The scrumptious treats will taste even better when you learn that this month all proceeds will benefit the Phoenix Center for the Arts, now in its 40th year of providing art opportunities to Phoenix residents. We can’t think of a better 40th birthday present than a night spent honoring their mission … and eating pie.
The Phoenix Center for the Arts, among other things, offers classes to anyone interested in trying their hand at different forms of artistic expression. Whether you want to create pottery, learn how to draw, hone your painting skills, or practice your public speaking through performance arts, they have the class and space for you!
Many of our very own artists have honed their craft at the Phoenix Center for the Arts. Do you love your Chris Porter’s earrings? Well, you have the Phoenix Center for the Arts to thank for teaching and inspiring her passion. Do you love the mission of the Rising Youth Theater? Then you have the Phoenix Center for the Arts to thank for providing them the space to create and produce their performance art shows.
Suffice it to say we think they have got it going on! Friday night, you can join us to eat some delectable pie and show your support for this phenomenal local institution. The money raised will go towards their ‘Spirit of the Arts’ campaign, which is raising funds to repair and beautify the Phoenix Center for the Arts building itself—one of the most visible art facilities in downtown Phoenix. Support this important local non-profit by contributing funds that will help refurbish its splendor. You will also learn more about their upcoming Spirit of the Arts event held on Saturday, August 15th from 6pm-9pm (in partnership with the Breadfruit & Rum Bar, Roosevelt Row CDC, and State Representative Ken Clark).
Celebrate local. Support local. Eat Pie.

How does it work again? A $5 donation gets you a slice of a Vonceil’s Pies creation! A $10 donation gets you as many in-house tastings as you’d like! All donations, and 10% of all sales that day here at Practical Art, will be donated to Phoenix Center for the Arts.
The delectables (made by our favorite sister/helper Karen Olson) have previously included Banana Peanut Butter Cream, and Strawberry Jalapeno. Bring your own plate or pick up a handmade one on the spot to keep things eco-conscious!
