“THAT’S RIGHT FOLKS! STEP RIGHT UP! STEP RIGHT UP! THIS HERE’S THE MUSÉE DES ROBODDITIES! GATHER AROUND AND MEET EACH IN-CREDIBLE! DY-NAMIC! EXTRA-ORDINARY ROBOT! IT ALL STARTS RIGHT NOW! THIS IS THE ONE YOU’VE READ ABOUT, YOU’VE HEARD YOUR NEIGHBORS TALKING ABOUT IT, AND HERE IT IS! COME ONE! COME ALL!”
When Space Boy Robot, a.k.a. Jordan-Alexander Thomas, declared the title of his exhibition, of course, an old-timey circus caller sprang to mind– hence, the grandiose introduction. “Musée des Roboddities” suggests a traveling trove of robot oddities, and Thomas absolutely delivers the magic. He’s the ringmaster of wildly imaginative robot sculptures based on a cadre of cultural and historical figures, featuring such personalities as “Robama”, “Marie AutoNet”, and more!
Check out our photo essay of Jordan in his studio to sneak a peek behind the curtain and witness just how meticulously these woodcraft creations are brought into being. Or, hear more from the man himself in last month’s edition of Phoenix Home & Garden Magazine!
And then make sure to join us for the reception TOMORROW! Friday, November 7th, 7-9pm to take in the amazing spectacle and take home a roboddity of your very own! (Yes! They’re up for adoption!)
