The Buffalo Girl Buzz

If you even once met our late friend and founder, Jane Reddin, chances are, you remember her–she just had that kind of presence, that kind of spirit.

We’d like to invite you to  spend some time this April 10th to remember her with us. It’s been three years since the world lost her to leukemia, and we know we aren’t the only ones who still deeply feel that loss, and who greatly appreciate who she was and how she lived her life. In true Jane fashion, we’re remembering her with a party– a party filled with art, food, music, drinks, a healthy dose of eco-consciousness, and community.

We host this event to honor her life and the impact she had on ours lives, each year on her birthday. This is the first year since her passing that we’re ready to go big, go public, with this event. As in years past, this dinner is a fundraiser for one of Jane’s great loves to which she gave so much of herself– Phoenix Art Museum.

We call it The Buffalo Girl Dinner & Art Auction. It gets its name from Jane’s roots in Buffalo, New York and a memorial song carrying the same name written by friends Julie Kossak and Mark Weeter (all proceeds from the single go to Leukemia and Lymphoma research).

The details of the shindig?   Several food trucks will be on hand to serve up dinner, including our friends at Short Leash!, there will be live music by Pick & Holler and top local artists are providing art works for a silent auction. We’ll be releasing the identities of the auction works in a blog series starting soon!

The ticket price includes: entrance to the event, a $25 donation to the Phoenix Art Museum, a meal voucher for use at the food trucks, eligibility for participation in the art auction, live music by Pick N’ Holler, and drinks.

The event will also culminate nearly two months of a recycling drive. Each facet of this fundraiser pays homage to some of Jane’s passions– reducing our impact on the environment, bringing the community together, and supporting local charities and organizations; proceeds from this event, the auction, and the recycling drive go to benefit Phoenix Art Musuem.

  1. Hi, Clarita! Let me do some poking around! Not sure where WordPress stores all those settings! (Luckily we don’t get super high-traffic on the comments, huh?!) Best, Kara
