Halloween, or All Hallows’ Eve as it was traditionally known, began as a celebration in a number of countries around the globe as a way to remember the dead – saints, martyrs and the faithful departed. While traditions and festivities have shifted slightly over the centuries, there are few that have stood the test of time – dressing in guise, celebrating with the community and feasting.
Never ones to buck tradition (well, sometimes we do), we’re celebrating Halloween with all the time-honored festivities, but of course with an artful twist. So join us Thursday, October 31 for the Art of Halloween Party and Costume Contest. What’s artful about it?
We are converting our entire backroom into a photo-booth full of posing potential for the make-upped and wigged masses! We’ll be serving seasonal bevvies and snacks from 5 to 8 p.m., passing out treats, and ushering you back to snap photos for the costume contest. And, there will be a prize for the best costume!
The photo-ops start at 11 a.m. for those who can’t make it for the party. We’ll also email your image to you, or you can access it from our Facebook page.
If you’re unsure how to create your best undead look, or needing an extra piece to top-off your spooky seasonal décor, check us out on Sonoran Living, Tuesday, October 29 during the 9 o’clock hour. We’ll be featuring some quick tips and awesome Halloween and Dia de los Muertos items from the store.
