Photo Essay: A studio visit with Practical Art artisan Jennifer Gross of Phoenix, Arizona

There’s no mistaking the art work of Jennifer Gross. She’s a painter and a sculptor whose preferred mediums are imagination, whimsy, and quirk. Practical Art features her handcrafted, ceramic functional forms: bowls, plates, salt & pepper shakers, and pendants. Each piece features a different original design, often a character, critter, or creature, hand-sculpted and meticulously painted in vibrant, solid hues. Lisa ventured over to her studio to get a sneak peek into Jennifer’s process.

These pouty simians are small sculptures…. and S&P shakers! Click ’em to check out their details on our web store.
